A History of Expertise and Innovation
RJ Lee Group has assessed environmental issues since the early 1980s when our Energy Technology Consultants (ETC) pioneered the recognition of specific air quality patterns. We developed a cutting-edge technique for identifying, measuring, and characterizing particles in the air using computer-controlled scanning electron microscopy (CCSEM).
RJ Lee Group has worked with clients in various industries, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to assess and provide solutions for environmental factors that could affect our health. Our services have grown over the years, from setting controls for unbound nanoparticles (UNP) to designing and building test chambers to simulate specific environmental conditions.
Today we offer our expertise for our clients’ environmental and compliance concerns and perform rigorous assessment and management of potential environmental risks.
Capabilities
Environmental Science & Remediation
As environmental stewardship takes center stage, organizations are increasingly seeking expert guidance to navigate the complexities of environmental remediation and sustainability. At RJ Lee Group, we empower businesses to become environmental stewards, ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing effective remediation strategies, and fostering a greener future for all.
We know that environmental challenges demand a multifaceted approach, so the seasoned environmental scientists and consultants at RJ Lee Group provide comprehensive services tailored to your organization's needs. We help organizations minimize their environmental footprint, mitigate the effects of past harm, and embrace sustainable practices for a healthier planet.
Environmental Challenges We Help Solve
Environmental issues are rarely straightforward. They often involve regulatory pressure, technical uncertainty, and real‑world consequences for people, operations, and communities. RJ Lee Group helps organizations navigate complex environmental challenges with clear, defensible science and actionable insight.

Legacy Contamination & Remediation Uncertainty
Historic industrial activity, construction, or material handling can leave behind contamination with unclear origins or extent. We help clients characterize conditions, understand risk, and support remediation decisions with reliable data.

Regulatory Compliance & Enforcement Risk
Evolving environmental regulations and agency oversight can create significant compliance challenges. Our scientists support EPA, OSHA, and state DEP requirements with data designed to withstand regulatory scrutiny and enforcement review.

Exposure Risks to Workers, Products, and Communities
When airborne particulates, chemicals, or unknown materials raise health or safety concerns, rapid and accurate analysis is critical. We assess exposure pathways and potential impacts to help protect people, products, and reputations.

Complex Contamination with Unclear Sources
Some of the most challenging cases involve contaminants that cannot be identified through conventional testing alone. By combining environmental science with advanced materials characterization, we trace contaminants to their source and clarify responsibility.
Our Services
Our scientists provide timely insights, protecting our clients’ long-range goals and minimizing health and safety concerns that impact workers, products, and the environment down to the
nanoscale.
Site Characterization & Environmental Sampling
Air, soil, water, and bulk material sampling was designed to identify contamination sources and extents using defensible methodologies.
Particulate & Contaminant Identification
Advanced microscopy and chemical analysis to characterize nuisance dust, hazardous particulates, and unknown contaminants.
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Support
Evaluation of workplace and environmental exposures with a focus on protecting workers, products, and downstream users.
Regulatory & Litigation Support
Expert analysis and testimony supporting regulatory response, insurance claims, and environmental litigation.
Remediation Strategy & Oversight
We use data-driven remediation planning and verification to guarantee the efficient and compliant achievement of cleanup goals.

What Sets RJ Lee Group Apart
Advanced Analytical Laboratories
Our scientists work within RJ Lee Group’s fully integrated laboratories, using advanced tools such as SEM, EDS, and CCSEM. This in‑house capability allows for faster insights, tighter quality control, and deeper analytical resolution than traditional environmental consulting models.
Source I.D. You Can Act On
We don’t just detect contamination—we determine where it came from. By combining materials characterization with environmental science, we trace particulates and chemicals back to specific processes, materials, or activities, enabling targeted, defensible responses.
Expertise Where Science Meets Risk
Our scientists regularly operate at the intersection of environmental science, materials analysis, and litigation. This multidisciplinary perspective ensures conclusions that are scientifically sound, clearly communicated, and aligned with real‑world regulatory and legal considerations.
Forensic‑Grade, Defensible Data
Our findings are documented to withstand regulatory scrutiny and legal review. Every analysis is supported by rigorous methods, clear reporting, and repeatable results suitable for agencies, insurers, and court proceedings.
